What is a Sustainability & Risk Management Administrator?

The Sustainability & Risk Management Administrator works within the Sustainability and Risk department to coordinate activities in support of sustainability and insurance programs on behalf of the Company. This role focuses on applying Risk Management principles to analyze Central Hudson’s assets, earnings, and risk data to prepare policies and reports. Risks can originate from financial, legal, technological, accidents, and natural disasters. The role supports and manages insurance relationships for the company, collaborating with other departments to ensure proper financial transactions and contribute to forecasting. Additionally, the role supports the Company’s Sustainability initiatives, aiming to mitigate climate change impacts by promoting alternative technologies and driving change management. The selected candidate will engage in operational areas and assist in tracking and implementing emerging climate regulatory policies.

What does a Sustainability & Risk Management Administrator do?

  • Manages daily insurance and hedging activities and reports

  • Supports annual budgets preparation

  • Prepares monthly and annual financial forecasts

  • Implements best practices in Risk and Sustainability

  • Compiles and analyzes data for regulatory filings

  • Engages in Risk Management and Sustainability activities

  • Projects management

  • Assists with special projects

  • Tracks and acts on regulatory and emerging climate risk policies

  • Supports corporate sustainability reporting

  • Provides storm restoration support

What does it take to be a Sustainability & Risk Management Administrator?

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field with minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in risk management, insurance, or sustainability. Alternatively, an associate’s degree in those fields with at least 4 years of similar work experience

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quick software learning ability

  • Understanding of environmental, social, and business interconnections

  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively, adapt to fast-paced environments, and manage multiple projects

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Experience with Compliance and Insurance programs
