Job Summary and Qualifications

Under general supervision, provide respiratory therapy services, including ventilator care, airway management, and patient assessment. Ensure adherence to hospital and departmental policies. Recognize and address signs of respiratory dysfunction promptly. Collaborate with healthcare teams for patient care.

What you will do in this role:
  • Understand and follow hospital and Respiratory Care Department procedures.
  • Verify and approve respiratory care orders.
  • Recognize and record symptoms of respiratory dysfunction and medication side effects.
  • Initiate and maintain life-support procedures.
  • Ensure infection control and aseptic techniques.
  • Administer oxygen therapy and therapeutic gases.
  • Perform arterial blood gas analysis.
  • Provide airway maintenance and suctioning.
  • Attend to psychosocial needs of patients and families.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Experience: Prefer 1 year in acute care.
  • Education: Graduate of an AMA approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Special Qualifications: Must hold Texas Respiratory Care Practitioner license, NBRC certification, and demonstrate clinical competence and patient care skills.
