JOB TITLE: Inspector I - Quality (Structural & Buildings – Module Yard)

Work Location: Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitors and inspects Heavy Structural Modules / Buildings to ensure compliance with project documents, including minor and major Civil, building works, structural steel erection works, Piping / equipment installation, testing and other associated materials used throughout Module fabrication works.
• Monitoring and reporting compliance with GA, Civil, architectural, construction, sectional details of foundations, building and structural steel fabrication/erection drawings and plot plan drawings, codes, standards and procedures.
• Quality control inspection of Structural / Building modules which include structural steel, Piping, Equipment installation and testing works in line with approved ITP’s.
• Quality control Inspection of receipt inspection and storge and preservation of materials at Module yards as per project specifications and applicable International standards.
• Verify piping fabrication and installation inside modules as per isometrics & GA drawings.
• Witness dimensional checks, alignment checks.
• Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures and fixtures to ensure compliance to approved drawings and specifications.
• Witness bolt torque /tightening/tensioning of bolted connections.
• Module inspection as follows,

o Structural Steel Fabrication – Fit-up, welding, dimensional checks

o Piping Spool Fabrication & Installation

o Equipment Installation & Alignment

o Electrical/Instrument Supports and Cable routing

o Painting & Coating

o Final Assembly & Module Integration

• Random check using surveying equipment to verify vertical and horizontal alignment, location of structures, elevation of pipe and other utilities, verifies placement of reinforced steel, embedded items, concrete quality, placement of form work.
• Mechanical Completion is when all construction activities are completed and verified including All welds/NDT accepted, Painting completed, QC documents completed, Punch list items cleared.
• Inspect and monitor construction to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, signs, markings and specifications.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have a thorough working knowledge of International Codes and Standards, specifically AWS, ASME, ISO, API Codes/practices, and specifications associated with Structural / Building modules.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience as Structural Building / Fabrication Yard QC Inspector
• Should have experience in oil & gas / Petrochemical industry.
• Modul Yard fabrication experience is preferred.
• Should have previously worked with major EPC contractors or their subcontractors
