Job Opportunity
Join our team as a Water Distribution Technician and contribute to the safe and reliable delivery of water services in your community. In this role, you will operate, inspect, and maintain water distribution systems, ensuring the continuous delivery of quality water to residents.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in operating and troubleshooting various water system components to ensure efficient system performance.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on hydrants and valves for optimal functionality.
  • Conduct field sampling and testing to maintain water quality standards.
  • Maintain system instrumentation and respond to water contamination events effectively.
  • Assist in sewer system maintenance and cleaning operations as required.
  • Record all field activities accurately and prepare detailed reports when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training, and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in water or sewer system operations.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
  • Familiarity with water distribution systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to troubleshoot system issues efficiently and communicate effectively.
  • Capability to read engineering drawings and perform basic water quality testing.
  • Strong mathematical skills and physical ability to work in various conditions.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
Background Check Required
All successful candidates must undergo a Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) prior to employment.
Additional Details
This position may involve shift work, weekend shifts, and being on stand-by duty.
Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range: $26.52 to $27.22 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
