Job Description


Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Specialist (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with researchers on a grant-funded project focusing on sleep physiology, memory consolidation, and cognition in older adults with and without amnestic mild cognitive impairment. Your responsibilities will include conducting data collection, building rapport with participants, and supporting researchers in achieving project objectives.

Qualifications

Education:

  • 3-year Community College Diploma in Psychology, Health Sciences, or related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Health Sciences, or related field (preferred)
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification (an asset)

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience in sleep research facility or sleep clinic utilizing EEG equipment
  • Experience scoring clinical polysomnographic records according to AASM standards
  • Experience working with patients in clinical environment (an asset)
  • Previous experience with elderly populations (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Expertise in sleep software and protocols
  • Adept at using monitoring devices and instrumentation for sleep studies
  • Ability to score sleep studies accurately
  • Familiarity with research design and analysis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and analytical
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
  • Computer proficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
