About IT Services

IT Services at the University of Manchester is a dynamic and fast-paced department, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and high-quality services for our faculty, students, and researchers.

The Team

Our Switchboard team serves as the primary point of contact for all incoming calls to the University of Manchester, acting as the gateway to the institution. We prioritize outstanding customer service to ensure that callers are promptly connected to the appropriate staff members who can best address their inquiries, whether related to collaboration, employment, or enrolment.

The Role

We are seeking individuals to respond to incoming calls received at the University of Manchester switchboard, directing calls to the correct extensions on the system and providing assistance to callers when necessary. Maintaining up-to-date records and sharing knowledge within the team are also key responsibilities.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • The ability to deliver exceptional customer service by efficiently handling caller requests
  • Clear and professional phone communication skills to create a positive impression of the university
  • Effective teamwork to deliver superior service to the university
