Exciting Opportunity for Grounds Maintenance Specialist

Welcome to an impactful role where you will join a dynamic team operating from our depots in Yate, Kingswood, and Cribb’s Causeway. Your primary responsibility will involve maintaining grounds by engaging in tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, strimming, leaf blowing, litter picking, and weed spraying. If you enjoy working outdoors and are physically inclined, this role will be a perfect fit for you as you contribute to the maintenance of parks, public spaces, cemeteries, highways, conservation areas, and other natural environments.
Expect to work 34 hours per week in Winter and 40 hours per week in Summer.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake various maintenance tasks like grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub border maintenance, leaf clearance, litter picking, and more throughout the South Gloucestershire Area.
  • Execute winter maintenance operations in public parks, woodland areas, and roadside verges using powered hand tools and mobile plant equipment.
  • Contribute to upkeep the council’s cycle route network and assist in minor landscaping projects.
  • Operate commercial powered hand tools ensuring compliance with safety regulations and wearing appropriate protective gear.

Qualifications Required:

  • Demonstrated experience in gardening/grounds maintenance roles with proficiency in operating professional grounds equipment.
  • Full UK driving license with experience driving long wheel-based transit vehicles.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately, interpret maps, maintain records, and prioritize safety at all times.
Occasional weekend work may be required with additional compensation.
