Role: Residential Youth Care Support

Location: Residential Children's Homes in Nottinghamshire

Reporting to: Home Manager

Salary: £13.00 per hour, £90 per sleep-in, totaling £44,460.00 annually when completing x3 15-hour shifts and x3 sleep-ins per week.

Working Hours: 45 hours per week, including sleep-ins. Shift times: Commence at 10 AM-11 PM (sleep from 11 PM-8 AM), with the following day off at 10:30 AM (3 times per week). Numerous overtime opportunities are available.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Experience: Demonstrated experience in handling children with challenging behaviors, especially within a residential care or similar environment.

Skills: Compassionate, resilient, and dedicated to serving as a positive influence. Proficient in managing challenging behaviors. Adaptable and willing to work a residential care schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Children's Health and Social Care or equivalent, or willingness to work towards this certification.

Requirements:

  • A valid UK driver's license and access to a vehicle for commuting.
  • Prior experience as a support worker in residential children's homes.
  • Willingness to engage in overnight sleep-ins as part of the role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver unwavering care to our youth, ensuring all their physical, emotional, and daily needs are met.
  • Take the youth out for activities, family interactions, and educational outings.
  • Maintain a nurturing environment in the home, supporting each child's well-being and education, and ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Provide a consistent, high-quality service that caters to the specific needs of young individuals and advocates for their welfare.
  • Assist youth in building self-esteem, a sense of security, and personal strategies to manage challenging behaviors and thoughts, ultimately helping them reach their full potential.
  • Promote a positive safeguarding ethos and a culture of strong teamwork.
  • Foster an environment where individuals are valued and empowered to make a positive impact on others' lives.
  • Lead or support a range of activities and daily responsibilities.
  • Adhere to OFSTED and company standards and guidelines.
