Description: SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
Under the supervision of the program administrator, the individual:
Performs reserved acts:
o Evaluates a student with disabilities or adaptation difficulties in determining an intervention plan in accordance with the Education Act; o Assesses an individual with a diagnosed mental or neuropsychological disorder by a qualified professional assessment;
May be part of the CLSC team or an outreach team working directly in the community in a less formal environment;
Intervenes with clients presenting physical, emotional, intellectual, or social problems;
Applies intervention approaches specific to this clientele, such as individual interviews and psychological testing;
Designs the framework for specialized clinical assessment, orientation, and treatment program;
Uses prevention, education, and rehabilitation techniques that promote social integration, maintenance of residual capacities, and overall development;
Informs staff of the methods and techniques used, as well as the instrumentation and intervention methodology advocated by the organization;
Practices clinical interventions with users within their area of expertise;
Evaluates the situation of the youth, adult and their family in all environmental and relational spheres (extended family, school, daycare, work, leisure, etc.);
Determines a preventive or rehabilitation intervention plan for users and those around them, taking into account the issues, the individual, and the components of their environment;
Supports or assists the user, their family, or the organization throughout the process;
Serves in a consultative role to colleagues and network partners;
Initiates, supports, and conducts development or research projects that meet the needs of the clientele;
Possesses knowledge of conceptual frameworks and normative assessment tools such as the Parental Stress Index, Achenbach, Conners, etc.;
Analyses and interprets assessment results to provide necessary follow-up recommendations. Observes the user and their interaction with their environment, evaluating their needs, motivation, functional autonomy, and adaptive capabilities;
Utilizes the user's strengths to maximize their potential;
Establishes an intervention plan and intervenes directly with the user by organizing specific activities and daily support, or indirectly by supporting the professionals involved in the person's relationship;
Utilizes daily events and information received from different actors to promote the user's adaptation to their environment (modeling);
Uses problem-solving strategies with the user, breaks isolation through learning, and encourages the use of local resources;
Intervenes in crisis situations with the user and their family, if necessary;
Contributes to the clinical training of interns in their field of activity;
Participates and collaborates in orienting new staff;
Participates in the development and adaptation of clinical tools available to them;
Participates and collaborates in training activities, various clinical projects, or internal/external projects.
