Job Description


We are looking for a compassionate Paramedic Functional Assessor to join our team at Maximus. In this role, you will utilize your clinical responder experience to evaluate how an individual's health condition impacts their daily life. Your expertise will be crucial in handling complex cases involving physical and mental health conditions, as well as chronic pain disorders, to support our customers in moving forward positively.

This position offers a blend of challenges and rewards, and to help you excel, we provide a customized training program with continuous support and mentorship. You will undergo formal training at the beginning and receive ongoing guidance throughout your tenure with us.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments via telephone, video, or in-person to assess the impact of health conditions on daily life
  • Generate detailed reports for Personal Independent Payment (PIP) to assist the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in determining benefit eligibility
  • Enhance your clinical skills and knowledge through regular feedback and supervision

Requirements:

  • Valid HCPC registration number
  • Minimum of 1 year of diverse post-registration experience within or outside an NHS ambulance trust
  • Authorization to work in the UK
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proficiency in using computer software for report generation

Starting September, our responsibilities will extend to the Health Assessment Advisory Service (HAAS) for Northern England and Scotland residents, encompassing PIP assessments and Work Capability Assessments.
