Job Summary

Are you a skilled leader with significant experience in contract management, adept at overseeing all stages from planning to execution seamlessly? Do you possess a proven track record of effectively collaborating with third-party service providers, while also ensuring their performance aligns with our service delivery model's overarching objectives?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Contracts on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Director, Operational Strategy & Reporting, the chosen candidate will be accountable for developing and executing Contract Management Plans for YVR Operations, establishing key performance indicators, implementing risk mitigation protocols, and addressing concerns. Moreover, the role involves overseeing the team responsible for service level reporting, performance assessment, and continuous improvement endeavors, while managing supplier relationships, ensuring contract adherence, and monitoring financial and operational performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify potential contract risks, devise mitigation strategies, and offer recommendations as needed
  • Supervise Operations contracts by managing service level reporting, performance metrics, ensuring accuracy in reporting from service providers, identifying improvement opportunities, and monitoring compliance matters
  • Collaborate with internal departments, such as Legal, Finance, and Supply Management, to ensure contract fulfillment and comprehension
  • Conduct performance discussions with Service Providers, perform performance evaluations, and address improvement areas through cooperative troubleshooting
  • Participate in annual business planning and budgeting processes while overseeing the departmental budget
  • Guide team members by monitoring performance, providing guidance, offering technical support, and fostering professional development

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in contract management, combined with a university degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; or an equivalent blend of education and experience
  • At least 3 years in a leadership position, demonstrating exceptional relationship management skills and a proven ability to establish strong professional relationships
  • Thorough understanding of contract management concepts, principles, practices, and techniques, with expertise in private and public sector best practices throughout the contract management cycle, from planning to execution
  • Demonstrated success in crafting commercial solicitations and relationship designs creatively to meet diverse organizational needs and adapt to market conditions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including negotiation, facilitation, and impactful presentation delivery
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking competencies

This role is open to both Airport Authority employees and external candidates. Prior job performance will be considered for all internal applicants applying for this role.

Salary Range: $102,880 to $154,320 per annum, based on a 37.5-hour work week. Compensation is tailored to reflect your unique experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Performance-Based Incentive: Eligible for an annual bonus equal to 15% of your annual salary.
