Responsibilities:

As an Independent Living Support Worker, you will be dedicated to providing valuable assistance to the residents of Ambrose Place. Your main focus will be to help participants in reconnecting with their community, family, and cultural roots, empowering them to achieve the goals they have set with the support staff. Moreover, you will contribute to enhancing living stability and providing essential housekeeping aid.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of one year of relevant work experience
• Hold an Alberta Class 5 License, a satisfactory driver's abstract, and owning a vehicle would be beneficial
• Completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Valid driver's license, clear driver's abstract, and proof of $2 million PLPD insurance

Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, result-driven, good time management, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with poverty, homelessness issues, and Edmonton's urban core
• Experience working with high-risk populations and a deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures, history, and contemporary challenges
• Proficiency in Cree, Blackfoot, or Dene languages is a definite advantage

Working Conditions:

• Rotating 7.5-hour shifts, including weekends and evenings
• Required operation of personal vehicle with necessary insurance coverage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

• 8-hour shifts
• Evening shifts
• Weekends as required

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Edmonton, AB: Ability to reliably commute or willingness to relocate before commencement of employment (preferred)

• Overnight Shift (preferred)
