Explore an Exciting Career Opportunity in Healthcare as a Functional Specialist
If you are currently in the healthcare industry and seeking a change, this role may be the perfect fit for you. Whether you are a nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD), occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic, you have the opportunity to leverage your skills in a unique way as a functional specialist.
Our reputable client specializes in conducting unbiased and comprehensive assessments for individuals claiming the Government's disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment). These assessments can be done over the phone, via video calls, or in person at our assessment centers or in the claimants' residences. We are seeking individuals who possess both compassion and experience to understand the health conditions/disabilities of our claimants and how these conditions impact their daily lives. Strong computer skills, impartiality, and effective time management are also essential qualities we are looking for.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for conducting various types of assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their routine life. These assessments can be initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone evaluations.
Our hybrid work model allows you to work from home and be assigned to your nearest assessment center on a rotational basis to conduct face-to-face assessments. Additionally, you will spend time at our centers or office locations for team meetings, training sessions, and catch-ups with your manager.
In terms of reporting, you will observe and report on an individual's functional capabilities, analyze clinical information, and compile supporting evidence. Each day, you will create three detailed reports consisting of 3,000-4,000 words for each claimant. You will receive training to ensure that your reports provide detailed evidence and justification to assist the DWP in their decision-making process.
Offer Details:
This role presents its own set of challenges and differs from traditional healthcare roles. To support you in this transition, our client is committed to your training and development. You will embark on a 12-week training program (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm) with dedicated time for self-paced learning and development. Both 3-day and 4-day training options are available.
The initial six months may pose challenges, but you will receive continuous support and close mentorship to aid in your professional growth. The starting salary is £38,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time) with a 5% retention bonus. Upon achieving remote approval status, your salary will increase to £39,900 plus a bonus of up to 10%. Upon becoming proficient in face-to-face assessments, your salary will rise to £41,500 along with a bonus of up to 10%.
