Seeking a dedicated individual to join the Student Accessibility Services (SAS) as an Assistant. This role will support various services within the Student Success Centre, including Career Services, Counselling Services, and more. Responsibilities include managing SAS-related documentation, assisting with accommodated exams, and acting as the primary point of contact within the centre.

This part-time contract role demands a minimum commitment of 7.5 hours weekly, with the potential for up to 20 hours during peak times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the reception desk in the Student Success Centre, welcoming and assisting visitors
  • Managing SAS email correspondence promptly and efficiently
  • Coordinating exam accommodations for students and liaising with instructors
  • Scheduling appointments for service providers
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and a degree in Business Administration or equivalent
  • Preferably 5 years' experience as an Administrative Assistant
  • Previous exposure to working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
  • Familiarity with post-secondary policies and procedures is a plus
  • Strong customer service skills and adaptability to varying communication styles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite; willingness to learn new software
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Excellent communication skills and the capacity to handle complex situations effectively
  • Efficient multitasking abilities in a customer-facing environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality as per organizational and legal requirements
  • Clear Criminal Records Check
